Chocolate Brownie Trifle, also called “My Church Dessert” by my family, is always a hit. I take this to practically every church function we have and almost always return home with an empty dish. It’s not that I’m superbly talented in the baking department. It’s just a great (and easy) recipe and very yummy!
So without further ado, here’s the recipe. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Chocolate Brownie Trifle
- 1 box brownie mix, 13 x 9 size
- 1 regular size container of Cool Whip
- 12 snack pack cups of chocolate pudding OR 2 cans Thank You brand chocolate pudding
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips, for garnishment
Bake brownie mix according to directions. Allow to cool. When cool, cut brownies up into small cubes or simply tear up into small pieces. In a trifle dish (or other dish) start layers of brownies, pudding & cool whip. You should have 2 layers of each so you’re going to use half of each ingredient as you layer (except the chocolate chips). The top layer should be cool whip. Sprinkle the chocolate chip on top as garnishment. You can also use chocolate shavings here if you prefer. Cool for 2-3 hours before serving.
