Magazines I Enjoy Reading At The End Of A Long Day

Ingredients for a cozy evening!

At the end of a long day, I look forward to a cuddling up with a blanket, magazines or a book, something lovely to drink and my husband.  (Drink and hubby not pictured!  LOL)

It took me a long time to learn that I needed rest and time to relax.  For a long time, I pushed myself from morning till midnight with busyness.  However, that’s a story for another time and now that I have learned to relax, I really enjoy it!

My husband and I spend our time reconnecting, chatting and just chilling out together in the evenings.  While we have a few shows we enjoy watching together, for the most part, he loves to watch a lot of different types of shows and I enjoy reading by his side.  It’s one of my favorite parts of my day.

I currently subscribe to 4 magazines and thought I’d share them with you.  I always find it interesting to find out what others are reading and thought you might as well.  I’ll share what I love and don’t love about each.

From left: Country Sampler, Real Simple, People & Redbook

Country Sampler is a long time favorite magazine of mine.  I’ve subscribed for years and don’t see that changing anytime soon.  I live in a rural area in the hills of Kentucky and this sort of décor is popular here and just fits.  It’s comfy, cozy and feels like ‘home’ to me.  While my taste in décor has started varying a tiny bit as of late, this magazine still offers me tons of inspiration and is a joy to page through.  If you love primitive or country décor, you need this in your mailbox!

Real Simple Magazine is one I’d heard a lot of good buzz about before I subscribed.  I do enjoy the magazine but to be honest, it’s not my favorite of those I receive.  I probably won’t renew it.  But for now, I’m entertained.  My favorite monthly feature is “Your Words” where a question is asked and readers offer advice in return.  Many times, it’s spot-on.

People is a classic, of course.  It’s a reputable magazine known for getting the true scoop on news around the world as well as what’s going on in Celebrity-ville.  I enjoy some weeks more than others, depending on who’s on the cover.  I originally ordered it for my daughter who loves celebrity gossip but have read it along with her.  My favorite feature is “secondlook,” a puzzle that displays 2 (almost) identical pictures and allows you to seek out the small differences.

Lastly, I subscribe to Redbook.  I love this magazine!  It has so many features I love every month.  It covers fashion, fitness, beauty, celebrity interviews and more.  It’s fun, informative and I know I’ll be subscribing for a long time.

What magazines do you love?  I’d love to hear from you!
